Thomas L. Pomeroy, 70, of Napanoch, NY, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loved ones on Wednesday, May 20, 2015. He was born in Ellenville, NY to the late Edsel and Ruth (Potter) Pomeroy.

Tom was a lifelong resident of Napanoch, he worked at Marvin Millworks for 22 years also for the Town of Wawarsing Highway Dept as a Park Foreman where he retired from after 20 years of service.

Tom had a love for rabbit hunting with his beagle Bridget and deer hunting. He enjoyed coming home every day and watching his favorite shows General Hospital and the Five O’Clock News. Sundays he would always have to be home to watch the NASCAR races. In between his shows he enjoyed taking rides with his buddy Floyd Rose, looking for deer.

Tom was a kind man, always with a smile on his face, everyone that knew him always talked about that smile and those eyes.

Thomas leaves behind his loving wife, Joan (Sheeley) Pomeroy of 46 years, his daughters Stacie and her husband Mike Avery of Napanoch, Shannon Pomeroy of Kerhonkson and Trish Pomeroy of Napanoch, his granddaughters that he was so proud of Emilee Avery, Justina Lopez and Sarra Avery of Napanoch. He also leaves behind his sister Carol Shamro of Napanoch, brothers William Pomeroy of Kerhonkson, Donald Pomeroy of Napanoch, Joe (Kathy) Pomeroy of Ellenville, Jon (Carol) Pomeroy of Napanoch, Edsel Pomeroy Jr. (Lois) of Wallkill, his brother-in-law Terry (Joan) Sheeley, sisters-in-law, Karen (Bobby) Kent of Kingston, Sue (Glenn)Vankleek of Samsonville and Barbara (Billy) Naber of Napanoch as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents Edsel and Ruth Pumeroy, sisters Janice Ryan, Beverly Meade and Maryetta Cathcart.

The family will be receiving friends on Friday, May 22^nd from 2-4 and 7-9pm with a celebration of his life beginning at 8:30pm at Loucks Funeral Home, 79 North Main Street, Ellenville, NY.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Tom’s name to Hospice of Ulster County, the American Cancer Society and/or St. Mark’s United Methodist Church, Napanoch, NY.
