Thomas R. Gleason Sr. of Ellenville passed away after a very courageous battle with cancer with his loving family by his side. He was 83.
He was the son of the late James M. and Helen Hazel Mather Gleason, born on November 26, 1932 in Monsey, NY.
He proudly served our country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the Kerhonkson VFW Post # 8959 and past member of the Ulster Heights Rod and Gun Club. He was a fan of Notre Dame Football and Dale Earnhardt Sr. He enjoyed crossword puzzles but more importantly he loved spending time with his family. He loved his grandchildren very much but there was a special spot in his heart for his great granddaughter Keira and his cat Muffin.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 57 years Julia Gleason, his children Thomas R. Gleason Jr. of Kerhonkson, Jacqueline Collier and her husband David of Ellenville, Gwendolyn Conner and her husband Merrill of Napanoch, his grandchildren Brian Collier, Jessica Collier, Kyle Conner, Tyler Gleason and Ayden Towne, his great granddaughter Keira Lee Collier, his brother-in-law Thomas Schrock of Florida, several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Visitation will be on Thursday, October 27, 2016 at Loucks Funeral Home 79 North Main Street, Ellenville, NY 12428 from 6-9:00pm., and on Friday, October 28, 2016 from 10-10:30am. A funeral service will follow at the funeral home at 10:30am. Interment will follow at Fantinekill Cemetery, Ellenville, NY will full military honors.
