Thalia Odette Yeadon

Thalia Odette Yeadon passed away on Tuesday, December 5, 2017. She was 90 years old. She was born on December 4, 1927 in New York City to Thelma Eloise Sadgwar Yeadon and Benjamin Oscar Yeadon Sr.. She was the youngest of 3 children born to her parents. The others being Benjamin O. Yeadon Jr. and Travis R. Yeadon.

Thalia attended N.Y.C. public schools graduating from James Monroe H.S. in the Bronx. She then attended Brooklyn College from whom she received a B.A. degree in 1952. She then went to Boston University where she received a Masters degree in social work in 1956.

She worked for the state of N.Y. (in Elmira) and various private agencies until she joined the N.Y.C. Board of Education as a social worker. She retired from that job in 1984. She has resided in Ellenville since that date.

She leaves behind three nephews, Ronald O. Yeadon and his wife GiGi, Travis R. Yeadon Jr. and Henry C. Yeadon and his wife Judy, her great nephew Tal E. Yeadon as well as numerous cousins.

Thalia was predeceased by her brothers Benjamin O. Yeadon Jr. and Travis R. Yeadon and her nephew Regis Yeadon.

Visitation will be on held on Friday, December 8th from 10 am to 12 noon with a funeral service immediately following at Loucks Funeral Home, 79 North Main St., Ellenville NY. Burial will follow at Fantinekill Cemetery.
