Samuel F. Coates

Samuel F. Coates, of Phillipsport, NY, passed away on Monday, January 11, 2016. He was 74 years old. Sam was born in Brooklyn, NY on October 16, 1941; he was the son of Samuel Coates and Helen Schweitzer.

Sam proudly served his country in the United States Navy and was honorably discharged in 1965. He married Karen (Dennis) Coates in 1966 in Massapequa Park, LI. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Sam was predeceased by his loving wife Karen and their beloved daughter Carriann.

He is survived by his brother Patrick Dougherty and his wife Bonnie of East Islip, NY, his sister Rose Romeo and her husband William of Amite, La, his brother-in-law Herbert Hoyne along with many nieces, nephews and extended family members.

A graveside service with military honors will be held on Saturday, January 16th at 11:30am at Pine Bush Cemetery, Kerhonkson. The Rev. Tobias Anderson will officiate.

Arrangements are under the guidance of Loucks Funeral Home, Ellenville.
