Ruth Stebbins Brown De Tar, age 83, passed away Tuesday, July 14, at her home in Cragsmoor, NY, surrounded by family and friends, following a courageous three-year battle with cancer.

She was also a member of the Westchester Choral Society for many years.
She is survived by her wife, Kathleen Muldoon, at home; her four children with John De Tar: son, Michael and his wife, Nupur of Brussels, Belgium; daughter, Judy and her husband, Michael Minette of Los Angeles; son, Andrew of Saranac Lake; daughter, Jeanne of New Paltz; grandchildren: Phoebe, Justine, Leah, Chadeayne, Rees, Julia, Liam, and Anneke; sisters: Judith Hollinshead of Chapel Hill, NC, Elinore Brown of Bethesda, MD, and Harriet Borton of Troy, NY; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews and their children. To the end she was a vital, much loved member of her Cragsmoor community, which already misses her greatly.
