Rosalyn Bernice Gunter Banks

Rosalyn Bernice Gunter Banks of Kingston, NY and formerly of Ellenville, NY, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 28, 2019. She was 42 years old. Rosalyn was born on June 26, 1977 in Ellenville; she was the daughter of Rosel Banks Jr. and Sharon Gunter.

Rosalyn had attended Ellenville High School as well as North Charleston High School in South Carolina. She worked for various businesses throughout her life including Stewarts, Marshalls and Eckerts to name a few. In her down time she liked to write and although not a licensed beautician she found great joy in styling children’s hair. Her greatest accomplishment in life was raising her son Janai Gunter Mitchell and she cherished the time she was able to spend with him.

In addition to her parents, and her son, Rosalyn is survived by her life partner Lincoln Laboriel; her sister, Tyarra Gunter Banks; her maternal grandmother, Clarice Brockman; her uncle Walter Gunte; her niece, Tiana; her nephew, Aiden  as well as many cousins, aunts and uncles.

Rosalyn was predeceased by her brother Aaron Bernard Gunter; her step father, Melvin Bullock who brought so much happiness and stability to her life , her paternal grandparents, Bernice Banks and Rosel Banks Sr. and her aunts, Emma Ware, Rebecca Calhoun, Annie Banks and Monique Brockman.

Visiting will be held on Friday, September 6th from 5:00 – 6:00 pm with a celebration of her life immediately following at the New Testament Church of Jesus Christ, 39 Clinton Ave., Ellenville.

In lieu of flowers contributions can be made in Rosalyn’s name to the New Testament Church of Jesus Christ
