Rolf Leland passed to be with his Lord on November 16, 2024, at the Ellenville Regional Hospital. He was born May 16, 1932, to Hans and Ragna (Heiseldal) Leland in Orange, NJ.
Moving to Oak Ridge at the age of 11 where he spent the rest of his life. He attended Ellenville High School and shortly after he enlisted into the United States Army. After serving in Japan during the Korean War he returned home to take care of his mother and siblings following his father's passing.
He then worked as a mechanic until going into carpentry. He started a partnership with Lawrence Poppo, "Leland and Poppo Carpentry". Then started a company L&L Construction. He then retired to his home in Oak Ridge.
On March 24, 1962, in the Little Quaker Church in Greenfield Park he married Nancy Krom of Ellenville. Survivors in addition to his wife are his brother John of Maine, his sons, Roy, Arne, Eric, Craig (Jen) and daughter Susan Morse, his grandchildren, Shawn (Blaire), Kelsey, Chad, Abigail, Emily, Meghan Morse, Brady Morse and Rolf William and one great grandson Cole. He is also survived by his many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents Hans and Ragna, Rolf was preceded in death by his brother Hans and his sisters Helen, and Solvieg.
He was extremely proud of his children and grandchildren and love them all. He loved hunting and creating wood products which he did until recently. He loved being able to take rides through the fields and woods.
Visiting will be held on Saturday, November 23rd from 1:00-4:00pm at Loucks Funeral Home, Ellenville. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Ellenville First Aid and Rescue Squad.
