Robert Joseph Pressel

Robert Joseph Pressel of Ellenville passed away on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at Orange Regional Medical Center. He was 89.
 
Born on February 9, 1928 in Roscoe, NY, he was the son of the late Frederick and Elizabeth Volkommer Pressel and stepfather Otto Dietrichson.
 
Robert was a Lieutenant at Eastern Correctional Facility for many years before he retired in December 1989. He was a member of the Elks Lodge and was an exalted Ruler, Treasurer and Secretary. Robert enjoyed music and was a drummer and an organ player; he was a member of the Kerhonkson Drum and Bugle Corp. In his free time he enjoyed golfing, bowling and fishing. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather that will be deeply missed.
 
He is survived by the love of his life, Mae Pressel, his wife of 67 years whom he married on June 4, 1949, His daughters Maryann Iarussi and her husband Bob of Milford, MA., Patricia Pereira and her husband Adao of Greenfield Park, and Elizabeth Jennings and Bruce of Kerhonkson, his grandchildren, Melissa Barrows, Robert Chiste, Michael Cabral, Emily Pereira-Carney, Megan Pereira, Sarah Slinsky, Jody Jennings and Amanda Jennings, 14 great grandchildren with one on the way, and many nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his brother Frederick Pressel and sister Marie Malone.
 
Visitation will be on Friday, April 21, 2017 at Loucks Funeral Home 79 North Main Street, Ellenville, NY 12428 from 2-4 pm. A funeral service will follow at the funeral home at 3:30 pm.
