Richard "Da-Fence" Rizzo

Richard “Da-Fence” Rizzo, of Ellenville, NY, passed away on Sunday, August 5, 2018 in the comfort of his home with his wife Greta by his side. He was 55 years old. Richard was born on March 30, 1963 in Newark, NJ; he was the son of the late Samuel and Louise (Salano) Rizzo.

Richard was a successful businessman having owned Richie’s Fence Company out of Orange County, NY. He was a Dallas Cowboys fan, loved trips to Atlantic City, camping at the Jersey Shore and was always up for a good card game. Richie had a heart of gold, his family, especially his grandchildren were very dear to him and he loved them unconditionally.

He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by his wife Greta (Vanderpot) Rizzo whom he married on March 30, 2013; his daughters, Dana Rizzo and Gina Fouvy and her husband Mark; his step children, Jordan and Alex Vanderpot, George, Joy and Lucas Beekman, Gloria Fabre and Brian Tier; his siblings, Samuel Rizzo, Joseph Rizzo and his wife Denise, Louis Rizzo and his partner Jackie Karrick, Francis Rizzo and his wife Carol, Nicholas Rizzo and his wife Dawn and Charlie Rizzo; five grandchildren, Robert and Henry Fouvy, Carter and Kylar Morales and Luky Lezin as well as many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 9th from 1-4 pm. A celebration of Richie’s life will begin at 3 pm that afternoon at Loucks Funeral Home, 79 North Main St. Ellenville. Cremation will be private.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Hospice of Orange and Sullivan County.
