Phyllis S. Phillips

Phyllis S. Phillips of Pine Bush, NY, passed away on December 27, 2024 at Green Acres Nursing and Rehabilitation in La Plata, MD. Born on February 9, 1941, in Ellenville, New York, Phyllis was the cherished daughter of the late Charles and Ethel (Krom) Stedner.

Phyllis dedicated many years as a school bus driver for the Ellenville School District. She brought joy to her own life through cherished hobbies, including bowling, BINGO, and word searches, and she found happiness in leisurely vacations to the picturesque Lake George. Phyllis was also a lifetime member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Phyllis is survived by her beloved children, Tammy Newman and her husband Steven of Waldorf, MD, and Sandy Cockshutte and her husband William of Clio, SC. She is also survived by her brother, Robert Stedner, and her grandchildren: Matthew Newman and his wife Holly; Gayle Newman; Stacey Ross and her husband Bill and Brianna Cockshutte; as well as her great-grandchildren, Casey Nevitt, Kourtney Newman, and Gabriel Ross. In addition, she leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews, who will greatly miss her.

Phyllis was recently predeceased by her devoted husband, John J. Phillips. She was also preceded in death by her siblings; Charles (Chick) Stedner, Herbert Stedner, Gerard Stedner, and Joan Porter.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 3rd, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Loucks Funeral Home in Ellenville, NY. A Graveside Service to honor her life will take place at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 4th, at Fantinekill Cemetery.
