Peter Thomas Carey

Peter Thomas Carey of Napanoch, NY, passed away on Saturday, May 18, 2013 at the Orange Regional Medical Center. He was 71 years old. Peter was born on April 7, 1942 in the Bronx; he was the son of the late John and Eleanor (Jones) Carey.

Mr. Carey had served his country in the United States Navy and was honorably discharged in 1963. He worked at the Nevele, Herb’s Dodge and most recently at the Ellenville Regional Hospital where he was affectionately known as “Sneaky Pete”.

Pete was currently serving as Vice President of the Ogden Lane Co-op.  He enjoyed woodworking, watching TV (old time movies) and his many electronic toys. Pete was extremely proud of his yard and home. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Mr. Carey is survived by his loving wife Gladys Carey, his children Peter, Sean and Colleen Carey, his stepson Joseph Storey and his daughter Margaret Libby.

Peter was predeceased by his brother Gerald Carey.

Services will be private.
