Peter Aponte

Peter Antonio Aponte, 52, of Ellenville, passed away on Thursday, April 18, 2013. He was born on February 4, 1961 in Ponce, Puerto Rico to Elba Cruz and Victor Aponte.

Peter graduated from Ellenville High School in 1979. Following high school, he joined the United States Army National Guard and served for over 30 years. He died as a Staff Sergeant (SSG).

He had a passion for music and was a longtime member of the 20th Century Limited Drum Corps. Peter was a loving and devoted husband and father. A lively, spirited man who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his mother and father; his wife, Maria Aponte; his daughters, Aliene and Amanda Aponte; one sister, three brothers, and countless loving family members and friends.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Monday, April 22nd at Loucks Funeral Home, 79 North Main St. in Ellenville. A funeral service and celebration of Peter's life will begin at 10 am on Tuesday at Hosanna Assemblies of God, 178 Canal St., Ellenville. Interment will follow at Fantinekill Cemetery.
