Peggy Ann McCarthy Budd

Peggy McCarthy Budd of Napanoch passed away on Friday, October 4, 2013 at 
Hospice of New Jersey at St. Joseph's Hospital. She was 56. 
She was the daughter of the late Ronald G. McCarthy and Kathleen "Patty" 
McCarthy; she was born in Ellenville, NY on October 7, 1956. 
She was a 1974 graduate of Ellenville High School. Peggy was a retired civilian 
employee of NYS Department of Corrections for 33 years at Eastern Correctional 
Facility. She touched many people in her personal and professional life. Peggy 
was dedicated to her family, job and co-workers. She had a joy for life with a 
playful personality. She was quick to laugh and to make others laugh. Though her 
life was suppressed by her long and difficult illness, her family and friends 
will remember her laughing eyes and her joyous laughter. 
Peggy is survived by her two sons: Shane Richard and William Patrick of 
Napanoch, and their father, Richard H. Budd; grandson, Jaryd William 
Barnum-Budd, of Grahamsville. She is also survived by her sisters: Ruby McCarthy 
Stopard and her husband, Richard, Susan McCarthy Jackson, Cindy McCarthy 
Wilhelm; brother, Kevin P. McCarthy and his wife, Annastasia "Stacy", and many 
nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Ronald John. 
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 8th, from 7 to 9 p.m. and on 
Wednesday, October 9th, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Loucks Funeral Home, 79 
North Main Street, Ellenville, NY 12428. A Funeral Service will be held on 
Thursday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Fantinekill 
Cemetery.

Ulster County, 34 Broadway, Kingston, NY 12401.
