Paul G. DiMaggio, a former New York State Trooper and dedicated individual, passed away on November 12, 2023, in Middletown, NY at the age of 93. Born on August 14, 1930, in New York City; he was the son of the late Joseph and Josephine DiMaggio.
Paul served his country with honor and pride as a member of the United States Coast Guard from 1950 to 1953. His commitment to service continued throughout his career as he worked diligently as a New York State Trooper. After his time as a trooper, Paul went on to work with Union Carbide in Tuxedo, NY as a Boiler Operator until his well-deserved retirement.
Paul's proudest accomplishments were marked by his involvement in multiple organizations where he held significant roles. He was a valued member of the Association of Former NY State Troopers, where he served as the first chaplain in the Tri-State Chapter for several years. Additionally, he served as the chaplain for 20 years and past master of the Hoffman Masonic Lodge #412. He also held the title of Past Grand Representative of the Grand Lodge of Queensland Australia. Furthermore, he was an honorary member of several Masonic Lodges including Wawarsing Masonic Lodge, Port Jervis Masonic Lodge, and Warwick Masonic Lodge.
Outside of his professional and organizational commitments, Paul enjoyed fishing and playing chess.
Paul is survived by his devoted companion Sandra Wallack and his son Paul DiMaggio. Also surviving are numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Marie Telgheder and his siblings, Joseph DiMaggio, Antoinette Massuci, Theresa Nask, Grace Scileppi, and Thomas DiMaggio.
Visiting will be held on Monday, November 20th from 10 am to 11am with a service immediately following at Loucks Funeral Home, 79 N. Main St, Ellenville, NY. Burial will be held in Fantinekill Cemetery in Ellenville, NY.
Memorial contributions may be made in Paul’s name to the Wawarsing Masonic Lodge #582, P.O. Box 655, Ellenville, NY 12428.
