Nicholas Matthew Kentop

Nicholas Matthew Kentop of Ellenville, NY, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, June 24, 2017. He was 31 years old. Nick was born on June 3, 1986 in Brooklyn, NY; he was the son of Susan and Thomas Kentop Sr.

Nicholas had graduated from Ellenville High School “Class of 2004.” He holds an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration that he earned with highest honors from SUNY Sullivan. Although Nick’s life was short he lived it to the fullest. He was an avid painter and sculptor. He also enjoyed competing in Tough Mudder races. Nick was a hard worker and was currently employed by US Alliance Federal Credit Union, Guy Lewit Law Office in Ellenville and also Shoprite of Ellenville, where he worked for the past 14 years.
 
In addition to his parents, Nick is survived by his life partner Jody Oetzel and their expected child due in September; his children Elainna Marie Kentop and Temperance Rose Kentop; his twin brother Thomas Kentop Jr and his sister Samantha Kentop
 
The Celebration of Life Memorial for Nicholas Matthew Kentop will be Sunday, August 6th from 1-5 p.m at the Eastern NY Correctional Facility Picnic Grounds (behind Unity Hall building) in Napanoch. We would like to welcome any and all who were touched by his extraordinary life to come celebrate and remember Nick.
