Mildred Olejar Marsh, of the Rhinebeck community and formerly of the state of Florida, passed away on February 26, 2024. She was born on January 7, 1939, in Czechoslovakia to her late parents Matthew and Anna (Korchanik) Vaclavik.
Throughout her life, Mildred always performed with grace and determination. She worked with the Department of Corrections as an Executive Secretary at Eastern in Napanoch and Wallkill Correctional Facilities, showcasing her professionalism and dedication.
In her personal life, Mildred experienced love and loss. She was widowed by her four husbands: Vincent Olejar, Richard Meyers, Denis Bonforte, and Morris Marsh. Her daughter Irene Browne was a constant source of pride and joy in Mildred's life. She also found happiness in the presence of her grandchildren Amanda (Chris Aull) Holland, Nicole (Erik Hines) Zweck, Jennifer Zweck, and step-grandson Owen (Jillian) Zweck. Mildred cherished her ten great-grandchildren deeply: Grace, Jackson, Donovan, Harrison, Ricky, Nicholas, Elena, Leila, Gabe and Alex. She is also survived by her sisters, Ann (Vincent) Farina and Elaine (Fred) Panccia.
In addition to her professional and family life, Mildred found joy in being an active member of various communities. She was involved in organizations such as the Moose Club and Red Hat, contributed to the Democratic Committee working the polls and census. She enjoyed playing bingo enthusiastically, and most importantly treasured spending time with her family.
Mildred leaves behind a legacy of hard work, love for family, and a vibrant spirit that will be remembered fondly by all who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in peace.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 1, 2024 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. and again on Saturday, March 2, 2024 from 9:00 am to 10:30 am at Loucks Funeral Home at 79 N Main St. in Ellenville. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, March 2, 2024 at St. Joseph's Church in Wurtsboro. Burial will be held in Fantinekill Cemetery at a later date.
