Michael J. Miglionico of Kerhonkson, NY, passed away on Sunday, July 13, 2014 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was 62 years old. Michael was born on November 15, 1951 in Newburgh, NY; the son of the late Joseph and Laura (Lore) Miglionico.
Michael graduated from the Port Jervis High School in 1969 with a Regents Academic Diploma. He attended OCCC for 2 years transferring to SUNY Oswego where he earned his Bachelors Degree in Education. He then furthered his education to become a certified teacher in Earth Science.
Mr. Miglionico taught the 7th and 8th grades at the Ellenville Central Schools from 1973 until his retirement in 2007.
Michael was a train collector and sports memorabilia enthusiast. He was a member of St. John’s Memorial Episcopal Church where he also served as a vestry member.
On April 6, 1974 he married the former Elaine Wells at St. Mary’s Church in Port Jervis.
In addition to his wife Elaine of Kerhonkson, Michael is survived by his children, Michele Aversano and her husband Jason of High Falls, Matthew Miglionico of Kingston and Christopher Miglionico of Kerhonkson; his sisters, Nancy Dillon and Jo Ann Clune and her husband Patrick all of Port Jervis; his grandchildren, Sofia and Anthony Aversano; his Aunt Serafina “Fanny” and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 16th from 2-4 and 7-9pm at Loucks Funeral Home, 79 N. Main St., Ellenville. A funeral service is scheduled for Thursday, July 17th at 10am at St. John’s Memorial Episcopal Church. Burial will follow at Rural Valley Cemetery, Cuddebackville.
