Mae G. Gibson of West Palm Beach Florida and formerly Ellenville, NY passed away on Sunday, February 28, 2021 in the comfort of her home with family by her side. She was 93 years old. Mae was born on February 11, 1928 in Margaretville, NY; she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Bertha (Barringer) Gray.
Mae had married Clifford "Hoot" Gibson in Roxbury, NY on March 24, 1946. Clifford has since predeceased her.
Mae was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary and enjoyed bowling in a league with her husband.
Mae had worked as a Nurse’s Aide in Ellenville and also was a school bus driver for the Ellenville School District until her retirement in 1989. Following her retirement, she and Clifford moved to West Palm Beach and remained active in the local bowling league.
In addition to her husband and her parents, Mae was predeceased by her son David Gibson, her daughter-in-law, Mary Ellen Gibson and her great grandson, Brian Horvath II.
Mae is survived by her sons, Andrew Gibson of West Palm Beach, FL and Donald Gibson and his wife Sylvia of Hamden, NY; her daughter-in-law, Shirley Gibson of Napanoch, NY; her grandchildren, Andrew Gibson Jr. of Pennsylvania, Andrea Lemus and husband Octaviano of Cairo, NY, Matthew Gibson and his wife Kelly of Pennsylvania, Clifford Gibson and his fiancé Aimee of Philippi, WV, Brian Gibson and his wife Nancy of Ellenville, NY, Danny Gibson of West Palm Beach, FL, Kelly Gibson and Jason Amaya of West Palm Beach, FL, Dawn Gibson of Hamden, NY, Christina Mark and her husband Jason of Clinton, NY, William Gibson and his fiancé Sharon of Napanoch, NY, Lisa Slegona and her husband John of Ellenville, NY, David Gibson Jr. and his fiancé Chris of Napanoch, NY, Jean Derrick of Grahamsville, NY, Lance Gibson and his fiancé Connie of Accord, NY, Gerald Gibson and his fiancé Lynn of Napanoch, NY, Amanda Bou and her husband Frank of Hurleyville, NY, and Rebecca Horvath and her husband Brian of Ellenville, NY; great grandchildren, Andy, Brandon, Alyssa, Antonio, Daniella, Kelsey, Becca, Clifford Jr, Victoria, Damian, Cayla, Johneveck, Savannah, Jayden, Shayla, Preston, Emily G, Dylan, Mary, Marcello, Jocelyn, Harrison, George, Donald, Mariah, Kayla, Jonathan, John III, AnnMarie, Mikey, Jessica, Caitlyn, Cheyenne, Chelsea, Lance II, Austin, Briana, Gerald II, Jazzalyn, Raiden, Collin, Justin, Kiona, Emily B, Hailey, Kayleigh and Lily and 20 great-great grandchildren with 3 on the way.
Visiting will be held on Saturday, March 13th from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm with a celebration of her life immediately following at Loucks Funeral Home, 79 N. Main St., Ellenville. Burial will take place at the Andes Cemetery, 204 Lower Main Street, Andes, NY 13731 on Saturday, May 8th at 1pm.
