Mae Comfort

Mae Wright Comfort of Ellenville, NY passed away on Sunday, January 6, 2013 at the Golden Hill Health Care Center. She was 95 years old. Mae was born on January 12, 1917 in Sundown, NY; she was the daughter of Adolph and Ella (Wright) Geiselhart.

Mae worked for many years for General Sportwear in Ellenville and later Schrade Cutlery. She was devoted to her family and never missed an anniversary, birthday or special event.

A family statement said: Mae was a warm, loving, generous person who always put the comfort and needs of others ahead of her own. She will be deeply missed by her family and her large circle of friends.

Mrs. Comfort was predeceased by her husband Richard W. Comfort, brothers; Bert, Larry and Leonard Wright, Milford, Carl and George Geiselhart, and sisters; Emily Canfield and Julia Worden and her grandson Michael Comfort.

Mae is survived by her children; George Sheeley and his wife Mary of Ellenville, Richard Comfort and his wife Leanne of Roscoe, Sharon Krom of Spring Glen and Colleen St. John and her husband Brian of Lumberton, TX, her grandchildren; John and Theresa Sheeley, Richard and Chad Davidson, Richard and Christina Comfort, Lisa Smiles, Debra Sinagra and Scott Krom, 21 great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service with ashes burial will be held on Thursday, January 10^th at 10 am at Fantinekill Cemetery.
