Leon Ware, beloved son of Emma Ware and Leon Hanna, was born in Charleston, SC on January 24, 1956. He began his journey in Ellenville, NY, where he spent his childhood years, attending Ellenville High School. Leon was not only a dedicated student but also a talented athlete, leaving a lasting impact on the basketball team.
Leon possessed a remarkable talent for fixing electronics, particularly televisions. Music was Leon’s passion. His love for music echoed in every aspect of his life, bringing joy and harmony to those around him. Even after high school, Leon pursued his dreams completing his Bachelor’s degree in Montana, with the intention of enrolling in law school to become a lawyer.
In his youth, Leon had the privilege of working alongside Peg Leg Bates, gathering invaluable experiences and treasured memories. Life led him to reside in Phoenicia, NY for many years, where he cultivated connections within the community.
Leon's legacy will forever be carried by his three brothers, Anthony Ware of Midland Park, NJ, Edward Ware of Latham, NY, and Ramon Bethencourt of Lakewood Ranch, FL. In addition to his loving family members Leon is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews and Uncle Rosel Banks of Ellenville, NY.
While he may have said goodbye to his sisters, Joyce Ware and Gerrald Wigfall, and brother Jeffrey Ware before him, their spirits will forever remain intertwined, a testament to the strength of their bond.
