John Gordon Sims, Sr.

John Gordon Sims Sr., of Napanoch, NY passed away on Friday, December 30, 2022 at the Valley View Center. He was 72 years old. John was born on May 19, 1950 in Manhattan, NY; he was the son of Frank Edward Sims and Alma Louise (Wilson) Sims. 

John was the main provider for his wife and children. His family meant everything to him. He was loved dearly by his nieces, nephews and friends.  

John spent most of his career working for the family construction business and more recently for Civetta & Sons. In his down time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing.  

John was predeceased by his sons, John Gordon Sims, Jr. and John Gordon Sims, III. He is also preceded in death by his sisters, Louise Sims-Smith and Nancy Sims and his brothers, Frank Sims, James Sims and Eddie Sims. 

John will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by his loving wife, Ana Martinez Sims whom he married on June 8, 1997 in the Bronx; Ana’s son, Michael Thomas; his grandchildren, John Joseph Sims, James Camren Stein and Emma Golab, Ruth, Bernie, Ana, Kelly, and Stacy Thomas; his sister, Theresa Pacecco and her husband Alejandro; his brother, Victor Sims and his wife Sonora; his dear niece and caregiver, Victoria Reyes as well as several nieces and nephews. 

Visiting will be held on Saturday, January 7^th from 12 pm to 2 pm with a funeral service beginning at 1:30 pm at Loucks Funeral Home, 79 N. Main St., Ellenville. Burial will follow in Fantinekill Cemetery.
