John Rogerson

John Rogerson of Greenfield Park, NY, passed away on Wednesday, November 9, 2022 in the comfort of his home. He was 87 years old. John was born on August 9, 1935 in Brooklyn, NY; he was the son of Samuel and Edith (Coupe) Rogerson.

John began his career in Ellenville at Channel Master and retired from the Department of Corrections where he worked in Electronics Maintenance. He was an active member of the Ulster Heights United Methodist Church where he was a trustee, an usher and helped out with the food pantry. John also assisted with the church dinners. He was known as the church cook and no one could prepare roast beef and gravy like he could. John loved his family, especially his grandchildren. He made it a point to try and attend all their games and events.

John was a huge NASCAR fan and enjoyed watching football. In his younger years he was a Flagman for some of the local tracks. He also coached Little League and was a Scout and 4-H Leader.

John was predeceased by his sisters, Cynthia McGirr and Mary Huber.

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Lepke Rogerson whom he married on June 6, 1971; their children, Kimberly Wright and her husband James and Brian Rogerson and his companion Danielle Audick; grandchildren, Emily Rogerson and her husband Nathan, Christian Wright, Eric Wright, Bryce Rogerson, Jacob Wright, Bryan Rogerson and Maegann Wright; great grandson, Logan Okken as well as many nieces and nephews.

Memorial visitation will be held on Sunday, November 13^th from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm at Loucks Funeral Home, Ellenville.

A Celebration of John’s life is scheduled for 11:00 am Monday, November 14^th at the Ulster Heights United Methodist Church. Following services all are invited to fellowship in the church hall.

Burial will be held privately and at the discretion of the family.
