Jenny Rivera

Jenny Rivera, of Ellenville, NY, passed away in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at the age of 85. Born on June 24, 1935 in Puerto Rico; she was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Jenny moved from Puerto Rico to the Bronx where she raised her family. In addition to being a fulltime mom, Jenny worked as an office manager for the local Optometrist. She was also very active in the community serving as an armed forces volunteer, an auxiliary police officer and helping those with disabilities. Jenny was also a member with the Lions Club.

Jenny will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by her children, Victor Rivera Jr., Richard Rivera, Michele Rivera and Jacqueline Rivera; her brother, Osvaldo Castro; Ten Grandchildren and Twelve great grandchildren with one on the way.

Jenny was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Victor Rivera and her sister, Iris Castro.

A Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 24th at 10:00am at St. Mary and St. Andrews Church, 137 S. Main St. Ellenville. Burial will follow at St. Raymond’s Cemetery, Bronx, NY
