Jean M Monachelli

Jean M. Monachelli of Ellenville, NY formerly of Yonkers, NY passed away on Friday, June 2, 2017 at Ellenville Regional Hospital. She was 90 years old. Jean was born on August 7, 1926 in Yonkers; she was the daughter of the late John and Josephine (Guaracino) Carletto.

Jean was a proud graduate of Commerce High School in Yonkers. She and her family had owned Monte’s Deli in Yonkers for many years. Jean enjoyed crocheting, bowling and playing cards. She was an excellent seamstress and had made beautiful wedding gowns and prom dresses for her family. Jean was also an avid Yankees fan.

She is survived by her children, Joann Ball (Bill Rashevich) of Napanoch, NY, Lori (John) Tidaback of Virginia Beach, Thomas M. Monachelli of Ellenville and Mary Monachelli (Bill Harrison) of Accord, NY; her six grandchildren, Leonard Ball, Jean Schwander, Richard Mullin, Erica Basalone, Jessica Allert and John Tidaback Jr., eleven great grandchildren, one great-great grandson and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Jean was predeceased by her husband Thomas A. Monachelli; her brothers, Leonard and Donald Carletto and her sister Dolores Crowley.

Cremation will be private and at the convenience of the family.
