Janice L. Grote

Janice L. Grote of Napanoch, NY passed away on Thursday, September 6, 2018. She was 65 years old. Janice was born on January 8, 1953 in Ellenville, NY; she was the daughter of the late Ferdinand and Jean (Anderson) Rodrigues.

Janice had worked as Rural Letter Carrier for the United States Post Office in the town and village of Fishkill. She loved all animals especially cats, enjoyed baking desserts, photography, gardening and tending to her flowers. One of her real joy’s in life was spending time with Liam, her family meant everything to her. Janice was gentle, kind, generous, selfless and caring. Over the years Janice remained in contact with many of her childhood friends and made many new friends along the way. She was loved by everyone and will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.

Janice is survived by her step children Dawn Turner and her husband Silas as well as their son Liam and Jason Grote and his wife Robin, Carol Kelsey and her children Charles and Griffin and Michael Grote and his wife Heather as well as their children Jasmine, Jacklyn and Thyanna; her sisters Christine Young and her husband Theodore and Lori Landis and her husband John. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Janice was predeceased by her husband Michael Grote, her brother Anthony Rodrigues and her sister Teresa Rodrigues.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 11th from 5-7 pm at Loucks Funeral Home, 79 North Main St. Ellenville. A Celebration of her life is scheduled for 10 am on Wednesday, September 12th at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Fantinekill Cemetery.
