Jane L. Houghtaling

Jane L. Houghtaling of Neversink, passed away on Sunday, September 2, 2012 at Orange Regional Medical Center. She was 66.

She was the daughter of the late Roger and Georgianna Edwards Ackerley, born on August 24, 1946 in the Town of Rockland.

For many years she worked as a bank teller. She later worked as an accounts payable clerk at Tri-Valley Central School District.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all that knew and loved her, she will be sorely missed.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 47 years, Carl Houghtaling; her children: Pamela DeLuca and her husband, Alfred, Todd Houghtaling and his wife, Holly, and Kevin Houghtaling and his wife, Julie; her grandchildren: Amanda DeLuca, Samantha and Thomas Houghtaling; her siblings, Donald Ackerley and his wife, Loretta, Linda Taylor and her husband, Richard, several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. She was predeceased by her brother, Archie Ackerley.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 6, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the Claryville Cemetery, Claryville, NY. Rev. Paul Z. Ruter will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Jane’s name can be made to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718.
