Jamie Vargas Barbosa

Jaime “Jimmy” Vargas Barbosa “Chef of the Catskills” of Ellenville, New York passed away on Monday, February 17, 2014 with his family by his side. Jaime was born on June 16, 1941 in Puerto Rico; he was the son of Angelito Barbosa and Jaime Vargas.

Jaime had worked as a chef for the Catskill Hotels. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother and will be deeply missed.

Jaime is survived by his wife Elsie at home, his children, Iraida, Ivelisse, Jaime and Ricardo Vargas, Maribel Karry all of Puerto Rico and Jeanette Vargas of Ellenville, his brother Harold Vargas, his sisters Nilsa and Alma Vargas all of Puerto Rico, his grandchildren Steven Gutierrez, Andrew Valencia, Gabriel and Joel Ramos-Karry

Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 on Friday, February 21, 2014 at Loucks Funeral Home, 79 N. Main St., Ellenville, NY. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 10:30am on Saturday, February 22, 2014. Cremation will be private.
