James Scott Troin of Ellenville, NY, passed away suddenly on Saturday, January 28, 2017. James was 49. He was the son of the late Walter and Ruth Ann (Distel) Troin.
Jimmy graduated from Rondout Valley High School. Upon graduating he entered into the United States Army and served in the military police for 2 years. He then transferred into the United States Marine Corp. and earned the rank of Corporal before being honorably discharged in 1992. Jimmy worked at Ulster BOCES as Lead Maintenance Mechanic for the past 18 years. He was a past commander of the American Legion Post #111. Jimmy enjoyed vacationing with his family and volunteering at the American Legion Post #111.
Jimmy is survived by his wife Jennifer Troin whom he married on April 4, 1992; their sons, Evan and Ethan Troin of Ellenville; his sisters, Debra Barbiani and her husband John of Woodridge, NY and Roxanne Babcock and her husband Donald of Cornwall, NY; his mother-in-law, Nancy Post of Slate Hill, NY; his brothers-in-law, Jay Post and his wife Diane, Lawrence Post and his wife Deirdre, Dan Post and his wife Donna all of Slate Hill, NY, Kevin Post and his wife Becky of Arizona; his sister-in-law, Suzanne Post of Port Jervis, NY as well as many nieces, nephews, family members and dear friends.
Visiting will be held on Thursday, February 2nd from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Loucks Funeral Home: 79 N. Main St., Ellenville, NY. A funeral service is scheduled for Friday at 10:30am at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Pine Bush Cemetery with full military honors.
