James Morgan Brackman

James Morgan Brackman, a resident of Loch Sheldrake, NY, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 4, 2025 at the age of 87. He was born on February 11, 1937, in Ellenville, NY; he was the son of the late Morgan and Bertha (Wood) Brackman.

Throughout his life, James dedicated himself to his career as a Motor Vehicle Operator for the New York State Department of Corrections. He had a passion for outdoor activities, particularly hunting and fishing, and he found joy in playing the guitar. Above all, James valued the time spent with his wife and family.

James is survived by his wife Shirley Brackman, his three sons, Gregory Brackman, James Brackman Jr. and his wife Denise and Dennis Brackman and his wife Glenda, four grandchildren, Christopher, Evelyn, Shelby and Joshua. Additionally, he is survived by Shirley’s daughters, Debra Gould and Donna Green, along with her granddaughter, Tamara Lee Defilippis who loved James as a father figure.

In accordance with James’ wishes, there will be no viewing. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 8th, at Fantinekill Cemetery.
