Evangelist Howard Hugh Harris, a cherished patriarch of his family, peacefully departed this life on Monday, February 26, 2024, at the age of 63. Born on May 11, 1960, in Kingston, Jamaica, Howard's journey epitomized unwavering faith, steadfast commitment to family, and profound dedication to community service.
A devout servant of God, Howard exemplified a life guided by his unyielding belief in Jesus Christ. His profound spiritual convictions infused every aspect of his being, radiating grace and kindness to all fortunate enough to cross his path.
In addition to his spiritual calling, Howard dutifully served as a Security Aid for the East Ramapo Central School District, where his vigilant presence was a source of reassurance for students and staff alike.
Howard pursued his passion for photography, honing his craft at the New York School of Photography and earning an associate degree. Behind the lens, he found solace and joy, capturing priceless moments with his beloved family, particularly his adored grandchildren, who brought him boundless happiness.
Howard's legacy of love and devotion endures through his beloved family: his mother, Cynthia Senior; his devoted wife, Althea (Chambers) Harris; his children, Howard Harris Jr and Georgette Jacke, Rolando Harris and his wife Taleisha, Joel Harris and his wife Joanielle, Devin Harris, and Charles Harris. His cherished grandchildren, Daniel Harris, Avigayil Harris, Izabelle Harris, and Rolando Harris II, were the source of immeasurable joy. He is also survived by his sister, Sandra Sinclair, and cousin, Evadne Smith, who was like a sister to him.
A visitation will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, March 16, 2024, followed by a Celebration of Howard's life at 11:00 am at the New Testament Church of Jesus Christ in Ellenville. The burial will take place at Fantinekill Cemetery, with a Repass to follow at the St. Mary and St. Andrew Parish Hall on South Main Street in Ellenville.
Howard's enduring kindness, unwavering faithfulness, and boundless love for his family will be deeply missed but forever cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May his gentle soul rest in eternal peace.
