Harold Louis Doolittle of Summitville, NY, passed away on Tuesday August 13, 2024. He was 85 years old. Harold was born on June 26, 1939 at the family home in Phillipsport; he was the son of William and Elizabeth (Mellis) Doolittle, (step father) Leonard Canfield. 

Throughout his life, Harold dedicated himself to his work at the Concord Hotel, where he meticulously cared for the golf course, mirroring the same level of attention to his own property.

Outside of work, Harold found solace and joy in family camping trips, partaking in activities such as horseshoes, fishing, golfing, and carpentry, all while indulging in his passion for tinkering.

One of Harold's proudest accomplishments was being a lifetime member of the Summitville Fire Company, where he served with commitment and dedication.

Surviving is his loving wife of 59 years Alberta Doolittle, whom he married on January 31, 1965. His three children Glenn (Barbara), Patricia (Sam), Lori (Chris). His Grandchildren Zachary (Kelsey), Tanya, Jason (Tammy), Jeremy “Monkey” (Justina), Heather (Nicholas), Jessica, Erica (Benny).His Great Grandchildren Tristen, Savannah, Zander, Anthony, Olivia, Jazlene, Logan, Willow, Kari, Alayna, Sameigha, Levi, Lexi, Junior, Christopher and Bella. His cousins Teena, Todd (Heather), Savannah, Christina (Kaden), Reese (Kendra). As well as many nieces, nephews, lifelong friends and neighbors. 

Harold was predeceased by his parents William and Elizabeth (Mellis) Doolittle, step father Leonard Canfield. siblings Frank (Gail), Gilbert (Cecile), Dawn McFarland (Art) and his nephews John Doolittle, Frank Doolittle, Edward McFarland and his Cousin Kerry Avery

Services to honor and celebrate Harold's life will be held on Sunday, August 18, 2024, at Loucks Funeral Home, 79 N. Main St., Ellenville, NY.

Visitation will take place from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, followed by a Celebration of Life beginning at 2:00. Burial will immediately follow at Poplar Grove Cemetery, Phillipsport.
