Greddy Abraham

Greddy Abraham, aged 60, peacefully passed away in her home on October 29, 2023, surrounded by her family and her dedicated longtime companion. She was born in Buenaventura, Colombia, South America in 1963 to Hector and Amparo Abraham. Greddy received her education from Ellenville Central Schools and later pursued her studies in Psychology and Social Work with a bachelor's degree at SUNY New Paltz and her master's at Adelphi University in Long Island.

Throughout her career, Greddy worked as a Psychotherapist for Dutchess County Mental Health and Westchester Medical Center Mid-Hudson Hospital, where she made a meaningful impact on the lives of many individuals. Her dedication to her profession was a testament to her compassionate nature.

Greddy was preceded in death by her beloved father, Hector Abraham. She is survived by her adoring mother Amparo Abraham of Ellenville, NY; her brother Eric Abraham and his wife Carmen of Ellenville, NY; and three nephews Nicholas of Ellenville, NY, Edward of Orlando, FL, and Christopher of Guilderland, NY. Additionally, she leaves behind numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins in South America.

Greddy's exceptional qualities as a daughter, sister, and friend will be deeply missed. Among the many cherished connections she cultivated throughout her life was a friendship that stood above the rest – "Rose Wells." Greddy treasured their bond from the beginning of their careers until the end.

An avid lover of animals, Greddy had a special place in her heart for her furry companions: Lily, Tori, Lexi, and Sasha. Those who knew Greddy well were aware of her passion for gardening and flowers. Each year she dedicated countless hours to create breathtaking flower beds and pot arrangements around both her own house and that of her dear mother.

Greddy found joy in exploring the world with her mother during their vacations, creating memories that will forever be cherished. She delighted in spending quality time with Eric, reminiscing about their shared childhood and enjoying their favorite music. Getaways to Atlantic City and the beach with her lifelong companion Chris brought her immense happiness.

Greddy's vibrant and loving presence at our family gatherings, filled with great food and laughter, will always be remembered and missed.

Friends and family are invited to attend the visitation for our beloved Greddy on November 3, 2023, from 7-9 pm, as well as on Saturday, November 4, 2023, from 10 am to 12 pm at Loucks Funeral Home located at 79 North Main Street in Ellenville, NY. The funeral service will then begin at 12 pm followed by burial at Fantinekill Cemetery, Ellenville. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Greddy's name to Hudson Valley Hospice.
