Gary A. Ellsworth

Gary A. Ellsworth fondly known as “the color man” by his friends passed away at home on Wednesday, December 11, 2024. He was 72 years old. Gary was born on July 29, 1952, at the Veteran’s Hospital in Ellenville, NY; he was the son of the late William H. and Julia (Bennett) Ellsworth.

A lifelong resident of Ellenville, Gary graduated from Ellenville High School in 1971. Throughout his life, Gary dedicated many years to hard work in various roles. He worked at Channel Master for 14 years, where he contributed his skills until the company's closure. Following that, he worked at VAW of America as an extrusion operator for an impressive 22 years until their closure.

In addition to his professional endeavors, Gary had a passion for woodcutting, and he was particularly fond of McCulloch chainsaws, which he used faithfully despite their discontinuation. In addition to his work and hobbies, Gary enjoyed watching Western television shows and movies, with "Gunsmoke" being his favorite.

Gary was predeceased by his oldest brother William Ellsworth. He is survived by his sister Kathy Ellsworth and her companion Kenneth Warg. His ex-wife Pat Bradford and her children as well as numerous cousins.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00pm on Thursday, December 19th at the Ulster Heights Cemetery. 

In honor of Gary's memory, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to the Therapy Department at Ellenville Regional Hospital.
