Frank H. Snyder

Frank H. Snyder of Ellenville, NY, passed away on Friday, August 5, 2022 at his daughter’s home in Wilmington, NC while under the care of hospice. He was 87 years old. Frank was born on February 11, 1935 in Cornwall, NY; he was the son of Frank H. Snyder and Thelma C. (Merritt) Vento.

Frank was the Manager and Assistant Vice President of the Ellenville National Bank until his retirement in 1998. He was very active in the community and served as the President of the Kiwanis Club in Newburgh from 1974-1975, President of the Kiwanis Club in Pine Bush for many years and the President of the Shawangunk Valley Senior Citizens. As a young man Frank played High School Basketball, he was on the Men’s Softball League in Newburgh and played City League Basketball. After graduating High School, Frank enlisted with the Army National Guard and was honorably discharged in 1961.

Frank was predeceased by his son Russel P. Snyder and son-in-law Samuel D. Allen.

He is survived by his daughters, Kathleen A. McDonough of Hawaii and Robin M. Allen of North Carolina; two grandchildren, one great-granddaughter and two grand dogs. He is also survived by his companion Diane Greer.

A memorial gathering will be held at Loucks Funeral Home, Ellenville, NY on Saturday, September 24^th from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm with a Celebration of his life beginning at 11:30 am.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Frank’s memory to Chronic Lymphoma Leukemia or Diabetes Association.
