Frances M. Peters, “Aunt Fran”, of Ellenville, NY passed away on Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at Westchester Medical Center. She was 90 years old. Frances was born on January 22, 1926 in Ulster Heights, NY; she was the daughter of John and Celia (Bennett) Moshier.
Fran had worked at the First National Bank of Ellenville and more recently was the Vice President of the Dutchess Bank of Poughkeepsie. Following retirement Fran and her husband Roger enjoyed traveling and eventually settled in Mesa, AR where they remained for ten years. Fran moved back to Ellenville to be closer to family after Roger died in 2001.
Fran loved bowling, camping and making crafts and later in life was an accomplished painter.
She was the oldest living member of the Ulster Heights United Methodist Church where she attended every Sunday and was a member of the Ulster Heights Rod and Gun Club Auxiliary.
In addition to her husband Roger, Fran was predeceased by her sisters, Beatrice Wells and Catherine Distel, her brothers, Harold and Irving Moshier and her brother-in-law Ralph Peters.
She is survived by her sister Doris Matthews and her husband Ronald of Ellenville; brother-in-law Dick Peters and his wife Patricia; sister-in-law, Hilda Peters; as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, great great nieces and nephews and her furry companion Casey.
Memorial Visitation will be held Sunday, April 24th from 2-5pm at Loucks Funeral Home, 79 North Main Street, Ellenville, NY. A funeral service is scheduled for Monday April 25th at 11am at the Ulster Heights United Methodist Church with burial of her cremains immediately following at Fantinekill Cemetery.
