Frances V. Gurgui of Napanoch, NY, died peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at her home. She was 93 years old. Frances was born on October 23, 1920 in Brooklyn, NY; she was the daughter of Francis and Ida (Geiger) Dunn and the widow of Charles Gurgui Sr.
Frances had worked as a bookkeeper for Baker, Carver and Morrell in Manhattan and was a longtime homemaker. She was a communicant of St. Mary and St. Andrew’s Church in Ellenville.
She is survived by her children, Charles Gurgui Jr. and his wife Evea of Kingston, Frank Gurgui of Napanoch, Richard Gurgui and his wife Linda of Lake Katrine and Teresa Gurgui of Napanoch; her grandchildren, Shannon, Evan, Jacqueline and Keith and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Frances was predeceased by her son James Gurgui and her sisters, Claire Hastings and Estelle Griebe.
Visiting will be held on Monday, June 16th from 3-6pm at Loucks Funeral Home, 79 N. Main St., Ellenville. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10:30 am at St. Mary and St. Andrew’s Church. Burial will follow at Fantinekill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Frances’ name to the Regenerative Research Foundation, 1 Discovery Dr., Rensselaer, NY 12144.
