Elizabeth Ida Caruso, fondly called “Betty” by her family and friends, passed away on Thursday, October 21, 2021. She was 89 years old. Betty was born on February 4, 1932 in Ellenville, NY; She was the daughter of the late Earl and Vera (Krom) Terwilliger.

Betty grew up in a large family, she was one of 15 children. On August 2, 1953 she married James Caruso Jr. He has since predeceased her. Betty had worked at Imperial Schrade until its closing. In her younger years she enjoyed biking with her husband. Some of Betty’s hobbies were doing word search puzzles, adult coloring books, quilting with her sisters aka. “stitch and bitch,” but most of all she loved cooking and baking for her family. She was best known for her giant pizza parties.

In addition to her husband, Betty was predeceased by her siblings, Gloria, Esther, Harold and Chris.

She is survived by her children, Stephen Caruso and family, Randy Caruso and family, Todd Caruso and family, Wendy Caruso and family, Melody Arroyo and family and Derrel Caruso; her siblings, Alice, Donald, Robert, Jimmy, Kenneth, Joyce, Sue, Audrey, Linda and Vi; her sister-in-law, Pauline; her numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren whom she adored dearly as well as many nieces and nephews.

Visiting will be held on Tuesday, October 26th from 10 AM to 12 PM with a service immediately following at Loucks Funeral Home, Ellenville. Burial will take place at the Sullivan County Veterans Cemetery.
