Edward E. Widmer

Edward E. Widmer of Ellenville passed away December 1, 2012 at the Ellenville Regional Medical Center, He was 94.

Edward was the son of the late Edward and Genevive Hennesey Widmer, born on October 7, 1918 in Ozone Park NY.

He was the proprietor of the skating rink at the Nevele. Edward was exceedingly musical and enjoyed playing in the Show Band at the Nevele; he was proficient in many instruments. He enjoyed fishing, cards and playing pool.

Edward served his country in World War II in the Army.

He was the widower of Vivian Rode Widmer. He is survived by one daughter, Denise Dolan of Ellenville; two grandsons: Brandon and his wife, Agatha Dolan of Napanoch and Errol and his wife, Blair Dolan of Middletown; two great grandchildren: Isabella and Steele Dolan along with several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Edward M. Widmer and his brother, William Widmer.

Memorial service will be held on Wednesday, December, 5 at Fantinekill Cemetery at 1 p.m.
