Edward F. Jennings Jr., of Ellenville, NY, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at the age of 94. Born on June 14, 1930, in Middletown, NY, he was the son of Ann (McQuade) Jennings and Edward F. Jennings Sr.
Edward spent much of his career serving his community. His dedication and leadership made a significant impact not only on a town level while he was the Town of Wawarsing Supervisor, but also on a county level where he played an instrumental role as a Legislative Member, serving diligently for ten years. His contributions extended beyond his professional duties, as he was actively involved in the Lions Club and the Noonday Club as well as the Elks Lodge where he held the esteemed positions of Past Exalted Ruler and Past District Deputy Exalted Ruler.
Beyond his professional and community endeavors, Edward had a passion for travel. He also had a love for woodworking. Above all, Edward was a loving father, grandfather and friend.
Edward is survived by his son Bruce Jennings and his wife, Elizabeth, his daughter Cynthia Swinden and her husband, David. He also leaves behind his brother, Glen Jennings, and his beloved grandchildren, Jody and Amanda Jennings, Sarah Slinsky, Tyler Swinden, and Amber Swinden-Smith, his great-grandchildren, Oliver, Charlotte, Connor, and Jacob.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his dear wife, Nancy L. Jennings, and his brother, Guy Jennings.
A private service will be held in honor of Edward’s life, respecting his wishes and the family's. The arrangements are being handled with care by Loucks Funeral Home.
