Doreen Lynn Porter

Doreen Lynn Porter of Ellenville, NY passed away Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at Golden Hill Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was 55 years old. Doreen was born on October 9, 1962 in Ellenville; she was the daughter of the late Carl H. and Joan L. (Stedner) Porter.

Doreen was a member of the Napanoch Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary and the Ulster County Firemen’s Association Ladies Auxiliary. In her younger years she was a Girl Scout Leader.  Doreen retired from the New York State Department of Corrections where she worked as a secretary for many years. She loved Sunday dinners with her family and visits from her close friends. She will be dearly missed.

She is survived by siblings; Carl R. Porter, Charlotte A. Wright and her husband Thomas, Karen L. Smith, Theresa J.  Rosselli and her husband Lawrence, Darwin S. Porter, Christopher A. Porter and his wife Jennifer. Also surviving are her nieces and nephews, Thomas, Tiffany, Courtney, Katelynn, Erin, Sabrena, Terri, Joshua and Samantha.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 27th from 4-7 pm at Loucks Funeral Home, 79 North Main St. Ellenville. A Celebration of her life is scheduled for 10 am on Saturday, July 28th at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Fantinekill Cemetery.
