Dolores M. Saver of Ellenville, NY, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, November 15, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was 88 years old. Dolores was born on December 31, 1935, in Montela, NY; she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Frances (Van Wagner) Brackman.
Throughout her life, Dolores dedicated herself to her passion for cosmetology, sharing her talents first as a licensed cosmetologist and later as an inspiring teacher at the VOTEC school in Sarasota, FL. She also brought joy to many by running her own hair salon. During the summertime, she would return to New York, where she provided her services at local hotels.
Family meant everything to Dolores. She is preceded in death by her husband Gilbert Saver, her brothers Dale and Duane Brackman and her sister, Beverly Brackman. Dolores was also preceded in death by her companion of 20 years Joe Stoeckler Sr.
Surviving are her children, Dawn Waelti, Scott Saver and Todd Saver; her sister, Deborah Lambert; her brother, David Brackman; grandchildren, Ashley Strong, Christopher Waelti, Kyle Saver and Sam Saver and her great grandson Mason, as well as several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to her dedicated aides, Robin Damms and Jill Pruitt, for their care and kindness during her time of need.
In honoring her wishes, there will be no services. Instead, contributions in her memory may be made to Hospice of Orange and Sullivan County.
