Daniel F. Donovan of Ellenville, NY, passed away on Monday,September 21, 2015. He was 80 years old.
He resided in NYC for his young adulthood and worked as a sous chef. He moved to Ellenville in 1962 and worked at the Nevele Resort as a cook.
Dan was very passionate about his community, which became his family. He was well known in the community and took pride in living in Ellenville.
Dan was a member of the Cable Commission in Ellenville and was well known for establishing televisions be placed in hospital rooms at the Ellenville Hospital. He was recognized by Maurice Hinchey as well as former President, Bill Clinton, for his service on this Commission.
Dan sponsored a young girl in South America yearly, which he took pride in helping her to a better life.
Dan was a loveable person, strong minded, and wherever he went, he made new friendships. It was hard not to love Danny, and he will be missed by his Ellenville family as well as his TenBroeck Commons family.
A graveside service will be held on Friday at 3pm at Fantinekill Cemetery, Ellenville.
