Claudia A. Struber

Claudia A. Pittenger Struber of Ellenville, NY, passed away on Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at her home. She was 58 years old. Claudia was born on November 22, 1953 in Newton, NJ; she was the daughter on Verna and the late Clyde E. Pittenger.

Mrs. Struber had worked as a Guidance Counselor for the Rondout Valley School District for 28 years. She was a member of the NYS Teachers Association, the Glenn Falls Quilters Club, the Wiltwyck Quilters Club and the Weavers Guild. She enjoyed spinning and weaving and showing her talent at the Ulster County Fair. Claudia was an avid hunter and fisherman, and held a black belt in karate.

Claudia always strived to better herself and continued her education in teaching and counseling throughout her career. Some may have even called her a professional student because of all the degrees, awards and achievements she earned.

In addition to her mother Verna, Claudia is survived by her husband Benjamin G. Struber, her step-daughter Rebecca Struber, her brother Carl Pittenger, her step-grandson Nathan and her two nieces.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
