Clarence A. "Terp" Hornsberger of Ellenville, NY passed away on Sunday, December 8, 2013 at Ellenville Regional Hospital. He was 82.
He was the son of the late William Sr. and Laura VanWagner Hornsberger born on April 5, 1931 in Ellenville, NY.
He was an engineer for the State of New York for 25 years before his retirement in 1997. He was a 52 year member of the Pioneer Engine Company #1 and a member of the Ellenville Elks Lodge # 1971. On his free time he enjoyed gardening and planting around the house. He was a simple man with a huge heart. He will be missed deeply by his friends and family.
He is survived by his wife, Madeline E. Hornsberger of Ellenville; his brothers, Anthony Hornsberger of Napanoch, Robert "Bob" Hornsberger and his wife, Jane of Ellenville; his special friend, Joe Dekan of Napanoch; one sister-in-law, Letty Hornsberger; and his canine companion, Teddy; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his five siblings, William Hornsberger Jr., Francis Hornsberger, Melvin Hornsberger, Floyd Hornsberger and Helen DuBois.
There will be a graveside service on Thursday, December 12, 2013 at Fantinekill Cemetery, State Route 209, Ellenville, NY 12428 at 1 p.m. Pastor Mike Sparrow will officiate.
