Christina A. Cook “Chris” of Albany, NY, and formerly Ellenville, NY passed away peacefully on Friday, July 23, 2021 at the Teresian House. She was 100 years old. Chris was born on December 28, 1920 in Nashua, NH; she was the daughter of Sarah (Thompson) and Ray D. Stockwell Sr.
Chris had worked for Verizon in Ellenville and Monticello for 28 years and retired in 1982. In her younger years she belonged to the Ellenville Ladies Bowling League. She married Benjamin F. Cook “Cookie” on July 22, 1942. He has since predeceased her.
In addition to her husband, Chris was predeceased by her son Wayne N. Cook and her brother, Ray D. Stockwell Jr.
Surviving are her son Gary Cook and his wife Bernadette of Tampa, FL, her daughter Canda B. Bowie of Rexford, NY; grandchildren, Amy Souky, Patrick Cook, Jason Cook and Amanda Bowie-Lipowitz; great grandchildren, Olivia and Emma Souky.
Visiting will be held on Wednesday from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm with a celebration of her life beginning at 12:00 pm at Loucks Funeral Home, 79 N. Main St., Ellenville. Burial will follow at Fantinekill Cemetery.
