Carrie-Ann Wood, affectionately known as "Greenize," of Napanoch, NY, passed away peacefully on March 31, 2025, in her birthplace of Middletown NY. She was born on October 8, 1971, to Thomas W. Schumm and Carolyn A. Zampella Schumm.
Carrie-Ann lived a life filled with love and dedication. She was the cherished daughter of Carolyn and is survived by her brother Gregory Schumm, her daughter Kaitlyn Norma-Jean Wood, her niece Madelyn Schumm, and her companion Michael Loucks. She was previously married to James Wood, who predeceased her in 2018.
Professionally, Carrie-Ann was a valued librarians’ assistant at the Ellenville Public Library and also contributed her skills at the Eastern Correctional Facility as a part-time librarian. Additionally, she served her community as a notary public. Both her passion for learning and unending commitment to bettering herself were matched only by her love and compassion for her family and friends, and all those with whom she shared her life.
Outside of her professional pursuits, Carrie-Ann enjoyed creative activities, such as arts and crafts, and had a deep love for the beach. She was also an enthusiastic member of the Hudson Valley Jeep People, forming lasting bonds, and proudly displaying her nickname on her personalized license plate.
The family offers their deepest thanks to Dr. Robert Dinsmore, and the 4th Floor South Nursing Staff at the Garnet Health Medical Center, for their care and dedication to Carrie-Ann during the final stage of her life.
Further, they wish to thank all those that visited and sent heartfelt gifts and prayers during this difficult time, reminding her that she was loved and supported by so many around her.
Memorial services will be held on April 26th from 1-3 PM at Lighthouse Ministries, located at 23 Triangle Road, Liberty, NY 12754. In honor of her legacy, contributions can be made to Lighthouse Ministries.
Carrie-Ann will be remembered for her warm heart, her beautiful smile, and her unwavering love for all those fortunate enough to be her family and friends. She touched the hearts of so many and will be dearly missed.
