Carl Shamro

Carl Shamro, of Napanoch, NY, passed away at age 73 on July 19, 2023 with his loving daughter Christine by his side.  He was born on April 8, 1950, in Ellenville, NY; son of the late Joseph and Reia(Smith) Shamro. Carl was a dedicated carpenter throughout his life. He began his career working with the carpenter's union before eventually establishing his own successful carpentry business. His exceptional craftsmanship was admired by many.

Not only was Carl skilled in his trade, but he was also involved in the community as a member of Chamber of Commerce.  Carl will be especially remembered for his warm smile and sense of humor. He possessed a remarkable ability to uplift everyone around him with his wit and was a true 'jokester' at heart. His presence could turn any situation into a more joyful experience. Carl's jovial nature endeared him to all who knew him.

Outside of work, Carl led an active life filled with unique passions and interests. He embraced the great outdoors as an avid hunter and outdoorsman, finding solace in nature's beauty. Additionally, Carl held an unwavering enthusiasm for Nascar racing and was a devoted fan. However, perhaps nothing brought him more delight than his beloved "toys" – a 1961 Corvette and a 1967 Chevelle. These classic cars were not merely possessions but symbols of Carl's zest for life.

Carl is survived by his loving wife Jenny Shamro, his daughter Christine Schiff and her husband Michael, step-son Joey Martin, grandchildren Reia, Lila, Dara, and David, great-grandchildren James and Patrick, as well as his sister Joann Ildefonso. Carl's family meant the world to him, and he treasured every moment spent with them.

Friends and family are invited to attend the memorial visitation on Sunday, July 23rd from 1-4 PM at Loucks Funeral Home, located at 79 N Main St, PO Box 107, Ellenville, NY 12428.  A private cremation was held prior to services.
