Brenda L. Barnes

Brenda Barnes of Ellenville, NY passed away on Monday, January 31, 2022. She was 78 years old. Brenda was born on May 9, 1943 in Greensboro, NC; she was the daughter of the late Paul and Maude Sams.

Brenda had worked as an Aide for Sylcox Health Care Facility in Newburgh, NY. She enjoyed caring for the residents there and building relationship with them. In her down time Brenda liked crocheting, going to stock car races, horses and was known for her delicious southern cooking.

Brenda is survived by her daughters, Evelyn Vanoyan, Penny Johnson and her husband George and Teresa Hinkson and her husband Christopher; her sisters, Mary Jane Danford, Barbara Phillips and Patricia Payne; her grandchildren, Keith Vanoyan (Nicole), Tina Demonia (Tony), Jennifer Hinkson (Joe), Jerica Johnson (Brian), Paul Johnson and Jacqueline Hinkson; great grandchildren, Alexis Vanoyan, Antonio Demonia, Gabryell Demonia and Cody Vanoyan.

In addition to her parents, Brenda was predeceased by her husband Homer Barnes, her sister Dorothy Straughn and her son-in-law Junior Vanoyan.

A memorial service will be announced in the spring.
