Abbie R. Morgan

Abbie R. Morgan residing in South Boston, VA formerly of Ellenville entered into eternal rest on Sunday, December 1, 2013. She was 96 years old. Abbie was born on March 24, 1917 in Roosa Gap, NY; she was the daughter of Jesse and Emma (Lybolt) Canfield.

Abbie graduated from the New Paltz Classical School now known as SUNY New Paltz in 1939 with a degree in Education. On May 29, 1940 she married Raymond Morgan in Phillipsport, NY. Shortly after their son Charles was born. In addition to being a homemaker Abbie retired from Rothkopf’s Department Store where she worked as a bookkeeper. Prior to this she was a bookkeeper for Masur’s Paint Store. 

In addition to her son Rev. Charles R. Morgan of North Carolina, Abbie is survived by her sister Betty Dawson of Naples, FL, her brother Leonard Canfield of St. Augustine, FL and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband Raymond in 1970 and her brother Kenneth Canfield and her sister Margaret.

A graveside service will be Friday, December 6th at 10am at Fantinekill Cemetery. Abbie’s son will officiate.
